Grade 3 Addition Worksheets — Free Printable PDF
Free Grade 3 addition worksheets — multi-digit addition within 1000, mental strategies, two-step word problems. Common Core 3.NBT aligned.
Grade 3 addition is consolidation work. The mechanics — line up the columns, add right to left, regroup when needed — were taught in Grade 2. Grade 3 makes them automatic and adds size: addition within 1000 fluently, multi-digit problems mixed with subtraction, two-step word problems where the child has to figure out which operation to use first.
Our Grade 3 addition sheets push fluency. Pure computation pages have 30+ problems each, designed to be done in under 10 minutes. Word problem sheets focus on the tricky bit: extracting the operation from the wording, especially when the answer requires both addition and subtraction. Mental math strategy review (rounding, compensation) is included for kids who haven't yet automated those tricks.
