Grade 2 is when telling time gets serious. The Grade 1 child only had to handle hours and half-hours. Grade 2 jumps to time-to-the-nearest-5-minutes, which means understanding that the minute hand moves 5 minutes between each big number on the clock face. That single insight is the conceptual leap of Grade 2 time.

Our Grade 2 time sheets start with five-minute intervals (12:05, 12:10, 12:15...) on standard analogue clocks, then introduce the 'past' and 'to' vocabulary (twenty past three, ten to four). AM and PM appear next, along with simple elapsed time problems ('start time was 2:00, now it's 2:30, how many minutes have passed?'). Drawing clock hands is included on every other sheet for two-way fluency.

Pair with the Time Teller game. Real-world practice (asking 'what time is it' on a kitchen clock) reinforces the worksheet practice better than any drill. Free, classroom-friendly.
